العلاج الاشعاعى.jpg

Overview

Department team including Doctors, medical physicists, radiation therapists, nurses, and secretary works together to provide integrated care delivery to our patients.

Using the most recent guidelines and protocols to treat our patient adults and pediatrics.

Department on the ground floor, with 2 outpatient clinics (one for follow up patient on daily radiotherapy sessions and the other one for follow up patient after the end of radiotherapy).

2 mould rooms for patient’s masks (thermoplastic and plastic shell).

A room containing computers for treatment planning and another room for the department of Medical Physics.

Scope of services:

Treating all malignant and benign lesions in different parts of the body that require intervention with different radiotherapy modalities. Linear accelerator devices: The hospital is equipped with 3 machines that contain the best technologies needed to treat tumors as follows: - Accuracy in treating tumors while preserving the healthy tissues and organs surrounding the tumor with the lowest possible radiation dose. - The ability to perform high-definition radiosurgery. - The presence of different treatment energies of the device, which enables the treatment of different pathological conditions and reduces the time of sessions. - The possibility of daily imaging of the session site to confirm the location of the tumor before starting treatment.

Elekta Versa-HD: 1- Integrates Monaco and Agility high-resolution multi-leaf collimator (MLC) to deliver treatments with 1 mm virtual leaves and a full 40 x 40 cm field size. 2- Advanced IGRT Setting. 3- Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT). 4- 3D technique, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), and Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT) and advanced delivery techniques. 5- Enable high-definition dynamic radiosurgery (HDRS), delivers absolute reliability, accuracy and confidence in stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) treatments. 6- Patient centric treatment planning solutions to MOSAIQ. 7- A choice of 2D, 3D and 4D treatments. 8- 6 MV WFF, 6 MV FFF, 10 MV WFF, and 10 MV FFF addition electron energies. 9- WFF (With Flattening Filter) - FFF (Flattening Filter free) which decreases treatment time to half.

Elekta Synergy Digital Accelerator: 1- Integrates Monaco and Agility high-resolution multi-leaf collimator (MLC) to deliver treatments with 1 mm virtual leaves and a full 40 x 40 cm field size. 2- Advanced IGRT Setting. 3- 3D technique, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), and Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT) and advanced delivery techniques. 4- Patient centric treatment planning solutions to MOSAIQ. 5- A choice of 2D, 3D and 4D treatments. 6- Supported the use of small-field delivery to enable implementation of stereotactic radiosurgery and stereotactic but did not yet have. 7- 6 MV WFF, and 10 MV addition electron energies. 8- Hexa POD optic couch is guided by an infrared camera that enables submillimeter patient positioning accuracy in six degrees of freedom correcting translational errors (X, Y, Z). 9- Body fixation system, frame uses a double vacuum system. 10- SRS Cone, small cone collimators used for stereotactic radiosurgery treatments (SRS). 11- 6 MV WFF, 6 MV FFF, 10 MV WFF, and 10 MV FFF addition electron energies.

Brachytherapy device: It is used in the treatment of tumors of the uterus, cervix and prostate and delivers the highest possible dose of radiation to the tumor site while preserving the surrounding tissue and is either as a single treatment line or after the completion of external radiation therapy according to the stage of tumor spread, in a number of sessions (from 3-5 sessions) using total or half anesthesia or without anesthesia according to the patient's condition.

Brachytherapy HDR: Internal radiation therapy. 1- High-Dose Rate brachytherapy (HDR). 2- Using cobalt-60 (60 Co) source, has half-life 5 Years. 3- Flexitron after loader minimizes the risk of potential human errors. 4- Brachytherapy applicator for precise treatment. 5- 3D treatment.

CT-Simulator: It is a CT scanner for radiation therapy and is used to make a CT scan of the tumor site and to be located by laser and body markes so that planning can be done before the physical calculations and the start of treatment. Siemens Somatom Definition AS CT-Simulator
